TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN

As the exhibition comes to a close, we extend our deepest gratitude to the artists who brought UGNAYAN to life. Each work carried its own voice, forming a shared experience where different ideas, materials, and stories met in one space.

To the partner spaces and collectives, .ph , thank you for trusting the spirit of collaboration. This project would not have been the same without your participation and openness.

Our sincere thanks to , the architectural studio founded by Ar. , Ar. .nieves , and Ar. .its.drew , for opening their doors and supporting this project from beginning to end. Your guidance, generosity, and belief in the artists made this gathering possible. We are equally grateful to the Headroom team and staff for taking care of everyone throughout the show.

To the collectors who supported the artists, and to the students, friends, and visitors who came to see the exhibition—thank you. Your presence gave meaning to the works and the space they inhabited.

Beyond this exhibition, Headroom continues to stand as a vibrant architectural studio and creative venue in Sta. Ana, Manila, open for events and creative gatherings. For inquiries and rentals, feel free to message Headroom.

If UGNAYAN reminds us of anything, it is that connection does not end when the exhibition closes.
It continues through the bridges we build with one another.

Thank you for being part of it.

MŌRY
TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN
📍Headroom, 2611 Lamayan St., Sta. Ana, Manila

For UGNAYAN, MŌRY draws inspiration from the folklore surrounding fairy rings—circular formations of mushrooms long associated with myth, superstition, and wonder across cultures in Europe, Africa, and North America.

Anchored in this natural phenomenon, the installation reflects a familiar human instinct: the need to shape stories around what we cannot fully explain. Through imagination, belief, and shared narratives, we attempt to make sense of the mysterious.

In gathering these figures within a ring of mushrooms, the work gestures toward small but meaningful acts of connection—moments where curiosity and storytelling bring people closer together.

Here, togetherness emerges even in the uncanny—reminding us that community can form in the most unexpected places.

As the final work presented in TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN, MŌRY’s installation leaves us with a gentle reflection: that our shared myths, questions, and imaginations are often what draw us toward one another.

TearsofJoy reflects on greatness as something that begins quietly, as a simple thought set into motion.

Through the language of domino pieces, the work speaks of interdependence: each form carries its own role, yet meaning unfolds through sequence and relation. What begins as a single action expands outward, amplified by community.

Extending beyond the canvas, domino forms ascend the staircase of the space, each piece bearing a letter. Viewers find themselves tracing the progression, deciphering the message as they move upward. In doing so, they become part of the chain, participants in the unfolding.

Much like UGNAYAN itself, the work embodies a domino effect — a simple interaction triggering connection, gathering individuals into a shared place of belonging.

Here, togetherness is not symbolic. It is activated.

TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN
📍 , 2611 Lamayan St., Sta. Ana, Manila
On view until March 4

Three monumental forms gather around a single fire — silent, steady, present.

In this installation, Omok reflects on shared space as an act of communion. The fire becomes both warmth and witness: a center where stories are told, burdens are lightened, and meaning is formed through collective presence.

The figures do not speak, yet they listen. They stand as reminders that we are shaped not only by solitude, but by proximity — by the quiet understanding that we are never entirely alone.

Within UGNAYAN, the work becomes a space of convergence — a circle where you, I, and us coexist. In the flicker of light and shadow, the installation affirms a gentle truth: there is always room in the circle, and there is always hope.

TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN
📍 2611 Lamayan St., Sta. Ana, Manila
On view until March 4

In this body of work, Kiko Moran navigates the weight of living through narrative and quiet observation. His paintings and sculptural interventions unfold as psychological spaces—rooms, thresholds, and fragments of the self—where vulnerability and awareness coexist.

Through layered imagery and symbolic gestures, Moran reflects on the idea that we are never isolated beings. Each figure is shaped by unseen presences, shared histories, and the constant interplay between inner life and outer world. Doors, openings, and recurring motifs become subtle affirmations: there is always a passage forward, always a possibility for light.

Within UGNAYAN, Moran’s works invite viewers to release heaviness, to recognize companionship in shared human experience, and to find hope in the simple act of connection.

.abino

In TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN, Gino Abiño turns memory into place.

Drawing from his childhood in a narrow street once filled with play, neighbors, and shared afternoons, Gino reflects on how early connections quietly prepare us for the larger roads ahead. Though the people have grown and their lives have diverged, the street remains — holding fragments of stories that shaped who he has become.

Through three intricately crafted dioramas and corresponding paintings that echo their scenes, Gino invites us to look closely at the small spaces that formed us. The miniature becomes monumental: proof that even the narrowest streets can carry expansive meaning.

His works remind us that connection is not always grand — sometimes it lives in ordinary afternoons, open gates, sari-sari stores, and childhood friendships that linger long after we’ve moved away.

Visit TAYO TAYO: UGNAYAN at and experience Gino Abiño’s works alongside the rest of the exhibition.
The show runs until March 4.
