ICMYI: WE'VE GOT "COMPANY". Museo Dipolog was once again honored with the visit of the current members and officers of the "Tanghalang Pilipino Foundation, Inc.", the country's National Performing Arts Company for Theater, in the morning of Wednesday, July 22nd.
Led by its Artistic Director, and veteran theater and screen actor, Mr. Fernando "Nanding" Josef and Company Manager Ms. Carmela Millado Manuel, the Tanghalan took immense delight in embracing Dipolognon hospitality and culture by making Museo Dipolog its very first official cultural-artistic stop in its four-day Cultural Exchange and Immersion tour in the twin cities of Dipolog and Dapitan.
Far from being a mere drop-by destination, the Museo furthermore served as host to a three-pronged lightning acting workshop facilitated by the Tanghalan members, involving three age brackets of young Dipolognon theater enthusiasts from different schools across the twin cities: workshops for grade-school, high school, and college students were held, culminating in a parade of presentations by noonbreak.
Aside from the administrative staff of Museo Dipolog and personnel from the Dipolog City Tourism Office, representatives from the Dapitan City Government, led by City Information Division Chief Ms. Kat Uyehara Hamoy, and the former Artistic Director and Vice President of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Mr. Chris Millado, welcomed the Tanghalan, with high hopes of future cooperation and collaboration for the development of Dipolog and Dapitan cities' local arts and culture scenes.
We are hoping for your comeback, Tanghalang Pilipino! It's been an honor.
