In the Changing Cycle of Dark and Lightness, Mindanao Art 2026 opens

This yearโ€™s fair enjoins artists and the public to rethink the role of art in our daily lives. From ornament, luxury, and status symbol, works of creative expression in these trying times have the power to move the tides, giving much-needed sobriety, hope, and vision to a nation grappling with uncertainty.

We invite artists this year to speak in acrylic, in oil, in wood, or in whatever medium that speaks to them with the prophetic voice of the moon, which in its waning augurs its own waxing. And with our artworks we encourage the art-experiencing public to take a more active, more affirmative role in the process of giving value to art and to life, learning to relish the sweetness of struggle while finding gravity in moments of lightness

Light only shines in the darkest of nights, while shadows can only dance amidst brightness. And in this ever-changing cycle of dark and lightness that is life, art comes to us to remind us all that we must keep going.

This is your chance to take part in the healing process of art!

Lawig-Diwa Inc. in partnership with the Municipal Government of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, will be showcasing artworks made by the survivors of the recent strong earthquakes in southern Mindanao

The artworks are products of ๐‘จ๐’“๐’• ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’‚๐’๐’”, an interactive art workshop that Lawig-Diwa organized for the survivors in evacuation centers in JAS. They will be put on show as part of Art for Everyone in SM Lanang, and will be for sale to the public.

JAS, one of the country's southernmost towns, was among those worst hit by the earthquakes. Sales of the artworks will help the many residents of the town whose lives were destroyed and disrupted by the calamity.

Join us as we help our fellow Mindanawons rise from the rubble with the power of art!

Rice to RISE

From the rubble left by the Magnitude 7.8 earthquake, artists trained by Lawig-Diwa Inc. are reaching out to help fellow artists and communities who were hit even harder.

Many of these artists from SOCCSKSARGEN and Davao Occidental are themselves from the hardest-hit provinces. But beyond them are barangays facing even greater losses, including artists and the weavers of Jose Abad Santos with whom Lawig has worked over the years.

Rice to RISE is Lawig-Diwa Inc.โ€™s rice relief mission. It is a way for artists to help artists, and for communities to help one another through a difficult time. By sharing what we can, we hope to help people get back on their feetโ€”and, in time, back to making art.

A sack of rice mean so much, please message us here or give our artist-in-charge Liz Lee a dm.

For the Rice to Rise initiative, any variety of rice and any quantity (in kilograms) will be greatly appreciated.

Option A: Drop off your donation at Ponce Suites.

Option B: Schedule a pick-up (please indicate the estimated number of sacks), or send it via Maxim or Grab.

Option C: Cash donations are also welcome via GCash: 0905 500 2757 (Lizlee E.). We kindly ask that you send a copy of the transaction receipt for documentation.

Thank you for your generosity and support! ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ’›
