❤️❤️❤️
We’ve featured him before and we know you’ve seen his works, but when a Danawanon artist keeps raising the bar, we simply can’t help but share his journey and achievements again and again. This is another proud win for a true .
Jayson Droña, of Maslog, Danao City, recently earned 1st Runner-Up (2nd Place) at the Visayas–Mindanao Wide Painting Competition 2026 for his 26” x 32” oil painting piece, “Memories of Perseverance,” inspired by the theme “Pagpanikasog, Kulay sa Kinabuhi.” Using worn cardboard, fragile tape, and vibrant colors, the artwork powerfully narrates resilience—transforming life’s struggles into stories of hope.
Jayson’s artistic journey began in elementary school through anime drawings, but it was in college when he realized that art was the path he wanted to pursue. His identity as a Danawanon deeply shapes his work, with many pieces inspired by people, nature, and the familiar landscapes of Danao—nurtured by a community that continues to believe in and support local artists.
“Dako kaayog impluwensya akong pagka-Danawanon sa akong mga obra. Supportive kaayo ang Danao sa arts, ug didto pud nagsugod ang daghang inspirasyon sa akong mga painting,” Jayson shared.
For aspiring young artists, his advice is simple yet powerful:
“Padayon lang gyud sa pag-practice ug pag-tuon. Ishare lang nato atong talent kay daghan pud mahimong mainspire.”
Beyond awards and recognition, Jayson hopes to be remembered as a Danawanon artist who brought honor to Danao, created quality artworks with story and soul, and inspired the next generation to believe that their local stories matter—and that perseverance, when painted with heart, will always find its way to the world.
Once again, congratulations Jayson ug padayon sa pagSIDLAK! 👏🏆🎨🖌️
