This is under the initiative as managed by the Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO).

This is an effort to highlight and popularize available resources at the City Library as supported by City Mayor Dexter Uy towards the 2040 Derecho Uswag Development Agenda under the priority area.

Every Tuesday, we at 𝙆𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙏𝘽𝘼𝙇𝙊𝙂𝘼𝙉 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙪𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 will be featuring Binisaya or Waray-waray words as part of our renewed initiative as managed by the Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO).

The City Government of Catbalogan headed by City Mayor Dexter Uy through the Kinatbalogan City Museum and City Library and the Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO) joins the global community in celebrating today, May 18, 2026 as the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (IMD)!

Kinatbalogan is a member of the Eastern Visayas Association of Museums -Region VIII, having been inducted last October 2025 coincided with the Museums and Galleries Month celebration.

Every year, on 18 May, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) organizes International Museum Day (IMD), a global event highlighting the transformative role of museums in society. In 2026, IMD will explore “Museums Uniting a Divided World”, focusing on how museums can act as bridges across cultural, social, and geopolitical divides, fostering dialogue, understanding, inclusion, and peace within and between communities worldwide.

Still on gender awareness, sensitivity and inclusivity, a workshop and reporting of their group outputs revealed varied concerns and gender issues faced by young people alongside its solutions and collective efforts to address it.

𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙤𝙥 𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣, 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙬𝙖𝙠 𝙖𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙖𝙣!

We have rolled out today, May 09, 2026 the 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧) among Community Pageant Candidates, Enthusiasts, and Organizers in partnership with Manaragat Organization held at Kinatbalogan City Museum and City Library.

Participants were candidates from Hiyas han San Andres at Barangay San Andres and Lakambini han Maulong organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan ng Barangay Maulong.

Aligned with the 2026 National Heritage Month (NHM), the training was geared towards assisting these young individuals to effectively use the platform to advocate awareness and involvement among the community, promote the city's heritage, and be role models and impactful influencers.
