Below is a rarely seen photo taken during his arrival in Manila to meet with Gen. Otis.

Ngayon ang ika 127 guning taon ng Kongreso ng Malolos.

República Filipina Banknotes - 1898-1899

In 1898, the Malolos Congress authorized the issuance of banknotes, which began circulation in 1899.

These banknotes and coins were backed up in value by the natural resources of our then young republic.

A tangible piece of our history that can be seen, read, held, and sought after.

Also below is document signed in at Malolos, Bulacan by Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo.

Today January 27 is the 95th birth anniversary National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva.

Today marks the 89th anniversary of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.

This is an afternoon issue of the newspaper The Philippine Herald that was able to cover the morning's inaugural event.

The newspaper is now undergoing a much needed restoration.

Today in commemoration of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia's 128th birth anniversary.

Bellow is a signed document from my collection.

Born in Bohol, he was best known for his "Filipino First" policy and Austerity Program.

He as the Vice-President became president when Pres. Ramon Magsaysay died in a plane crash.

It's the Museums and Galleries Month!

If you're in Bulacan you can come and visit the NHCP Barasoain Church Historical Landmark - Museo ng Republika ng 1899 in Malolos and view these historic 1898-1899 stamps that were issued by Pres. Aguinaldo!

The most iconic scene in Balagtas' Florante at Laure.

Florante tied to Higera tree, exhausted to near death with lions hungrily nearing and lurking on him.

He was saved by Aladin a Muslim and his bestfriend.

The significance of this scene is the humanity between Christians and Muslims that transcends religion.

Turn over of "The Evening Tribune" newspaper dated April 26, 1899.

A same day newspaper account of the Battle of Calumpit Bridge!

This historic battle is famous for Gen. Atonio Luna left the battle to discipline Gen. Mascardo.

Upon coming back Calumpit was overtaken by the American forces. Having left the battle for quite sometime, it has been one of the many remarks againts Gen. Luna.

Got my copy after two days of order placement.

Very informative, but I hope for a publication of all Historical Markers made before 2007.

I was disappointed not to see the markers in Balagtas, Bulacan. Then I remembered that the book only covers the ones made from 2007 to 2016.

On this day September 10, 1898, 126 years ago Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo moved the seat of the Philippine Revolutionary Government to Malolos, Bulacan.

The Philippine Revolutionary Stamps can now be viewed at the NHCP Barasoain Church Historical Landmark - Museo ng Republika ng 1899.

A nectar to die for...

The sweet exudates on the lips of the pitcher plant attracts insects to which most falls into the bottom of the pitcher.

Containing enzymes that slowing digest them as the plant absorbs their nutrients.

One of the native Philippine Pitcher species, Nephentes mirabilis.

In this case, the tradegy that befell Gen. Antonio Luna on the hands of his fellow Filipinos.
