VICTOR OTEYZA COMMUNITY ART SPACE

is an art hub right within the Central Business District of Baguio City, It is named after Victor Oteyza, (b. 27 July 1913 -- d. 1979), one of the13 artists in the 1950s who pioneered in Philippine Modern Art. This art movement in post-war Ermita in Manila included H.R. Ocampo, Victorio Edades, Cesar Legaspi, Luis Tabuena, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, among others whom th

e only Baguio boy was Vic. The VOCAS Gallery was built by his descendants-- specifically, the Father of Philippine Indie Film, KIDLAT TAHIMIK-- to honor the memory of Uncle Vic, who is a brother of the late actress Lani Oteyza (a.k.a. Located right at the heart of the busy Central Business District of Baguio City, the VOCAS Gallery was designed to host visual arts exhibits, original music concerts, homegrown theater and literature, local films, and traditional art from the Igorot culture.
