Jose Rizal: Portrait by Juan Luna

Created by Juan Luna, this portrait of Jose Rizal reflects the close friendship and mutual respect shared by two of the most influential figures of the Philippine Reform Movement. More than a likeness, the work captures the intellect, dignity, and ideals that Rizal embodied during a pivotal period in the nation’s history.

In celebration of the 165th birth anniversary of Dr. José Rizal, the Museo nina Juan at Antonio Luna highlights the enduring bond between the artist and the patriot. Two friends whose contributions to art, literature, and nationalism continue to inspire generations of Filipinos.

May lekturang Basic Archaeology for Teens hatid ni Asst. Professor Shereenne de Amboy mula sa Department of History ng Polytehcnic University of the Philippines at Water Education mula sa Maynilad Water Academy. Mayroon ding palaro at papremyo para sa mga bata at iba pang manonood!

INDEPENDENCE DAY GIVEAWAY! 🇵🇭
In celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Museo nina Juan at Antonio Luna will give away a “Sentinels of Freedom” shirt to the first educator visitor of the shrine on 12 June 2026.
The shirt is inspired by Sentinels of Freedom, a work by sculptor Juan Sajid Imao that connects the stories of Lapu-Lapu and the Luna brothers. Together, they symbolize the courage, patriotism, and enduring spirit of freedom that continue to inspire Filipinos today.
Visit the shrine early and take home this special commemorative shirt as we celebrate the heroes and ideals that shaped our nation.

NHCP Museo nina Juan at Antonio Luna joins the 128th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence

Carrying the theme 'Ang Kalayaang Pinapangarap' (The Freedom We Dream Of), President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the nation in celebrating the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood on June 12, 2026.
The celebration begins at the Rizal National Monument in the City of Manila, where the President, together with the First Family, leads the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies honoring Dr. Jose Rizal and the nation’s heroes whose sacrifices secured the country’s freedom.
The main program continues at the Quirino Grandstand, where colorful floats, inspiring performances, and patriotic music come together to celebrate the Filipino spirit and the freedom each generation upholds. Through the various presentations, the audience sees the many faces of the freedom the nation continues to aspire to — freedom that is humane, just, compassionate, united, and responsible toward one another and the environment.
This year’s Independence Day celebration is a meaningful journey that honors the country’s past, celebrates the present, and reflects the shared hopes and dreams of the Filipino people for the future. More than a celebration of history, this occasion reminds Filipinos of their shared duty to build a stronger, more united, and better future for all
