GLYF - Grupo Letras Y Figuras USLS

GLYF - Grupo Letras Y Figuras USLS GLYF is the official USLS visual arts organization where young Lasallian artists collaborate with one core belief—“Growth in Art.”

VISION
To provide the premier environment for multimedia art practice in the Lasallian community that produces art initiatives grounded on innovation, research and social engagement. MISSION
To form a Lasallian community of multimedia artists that aims to nurture artists and produce works that will contribute to art education and discourse. Grupo Letras Y Figuras (GLYF), which literally means “let

ters and figures”, is an art style that took place in the late 19th century in the Philippines, when new patrons of the visual art were established with the onset of the rice and sugar crop boom. Aside from the portraitures done for well-off families, the Grupo Letras Y Figuras also connote the status of a family during the epoch. It is usually depicted on paper using watercolour. The Grupo Letras Y Figuras then depicts the name of the patron and showcases his/her lifestyle through forming the individual letter of the patron’s name itself. As a visual arts club of The Artists' Hub, originally dubbed as the Artists’ Guild, opted to adopt the name since it embodies the distinct trait of the Philippine arts despite influences of the Spanish art scene, aiming for uniqueness without totally disregarding possible influences of the current art scene.

The biggest convergence of talent is happening tomorrow. 🎶

BUGLAS is a choral pilgrimage—a celebration of Visayan traditional and contemporary music that embodies the Negrense spirit, where the voices of the De La Salle Chorale guide us on a journey back to our roots, honoring our cultural heritage, strengthening our sense of community, and celebrating the stories that continue to inspire generations.

Experience the magic of the De La Salle Chorale alongside grand performances from USLS Ritmo Verde, BEU NOPSSCEA Folkdance, USLS Maskara Theatre Ensemble, and USLS JBDC, with stage design by GLYF - Grupo Letras Y Figuras USLS. Capturing the concert experience is La Salle Film Society: SiningLasalliano, while Production Support Group powers the show behind the scenes.

With a special focus on 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. Using appliqué, patchwork, texture, and modular pieces, we’ll create a shared installation that weaves together personal moments of love and regional identity.

With a whimsical and reflective approach, the work invites viewers to think about how love is shaped by tradition, time, society, and place—and how these meanings continue to evolve. Let us create, connect, and share together what love looks and feels like.

Ready your dice 🎲and brace your ears👂🤚🔊—our final spotlight in the Meet the Artist of GLYF series lands on ALEX RIVERO Not only is she an absolute weapon when it comes to dropping tea hotter than a dragon’s breath, but she also commands the table as a masterful Dungeon Master. ⁉️

"LOCK IN LOCK IN!" -Alex, screaming the most relatable catchphrase for Lasallians right now.

WE GOT OUR WILDCARDS HERE WITH US FOR TODAY's MEET THE ARTIST!!! The first one, ELOISE PATIGAS! When not behind the lens as the PR team’s go-to photographer, bro is busy curating an adorable army of chibis featuring her all-time favorite characters! Also, something tells me Eloise might "like" Kakashi, Idk just a hunch 🫢

"If it wasn't already obvious, yes. I am happily married to Kakashi Hatake." -Probably Eloise
