⚓The HMS Buffalo Re-examination Project team were back out on the wreck site last week undertaking investigative archaeological surveys in some seriously challenging conditions. Most of the work was carried out in near-zero visibility while battling heavy swells (the photos barely capture it!).
🤿Working in the marine environment means constant adaptation and balancing team safety with the opportunity to collect valuable archaeological data.
🌊Despite the conditions, we made the most of the small weather windows available and achieved some great recording work, including uncovering a little more about the vessel’s stern.

The Museum team were shoreside providing ongoing project support and chatting to the public about what we were up too.
