The Bach- Basin Art & Craft House Glenda Ferguson imagined an arts and craft complex dedicated to assisting Northlands talented artis 100% local, Northlands Largest artisans collective.

Our spacious gallery showcases the original works of over 100 artists. Our stunning range includes leather bags, ceramics,hebel stone carvings, textiles, ancient swamp- kauri carvings, wooden bowls, 100% cotton summer hats, silk scarves and much more

Kim is Whangārei born and bred, and currently lives just out of Whangārei city, in Maungatapere with her husband and son.

Kim’s mum taught her how to crochet when she was pregnant with her son because she wanted to make him a keepsake toy, something special from her to him. From there she made toys for friend's children and before she knew it, she had people asking if she could make this toy or that toy.

That was in 2019 and she has filled her spare time with crochet ever since. Kim tries to run with the motto 'if I can find a pattern, I can make it” and now she has around 200 patterns ranging from animals large and small, to vehicles, and sensory toys and everything in between.

Nothing gives Kim greater pleasure than seeing someone with one of her creations. There is something special about making something from scratch, working on it to get it just right, and then seeing it be carried off in a bear hug by someone with a big smile.

Scott's story began on the idyllic grounds of his farm in Kerikeri. Driven by a deep passion for nature, Scott embarked on a beekeeping adventure after being inspired by a friend's daughter and her newfound love for beekeeping.

Nestled amidst flourishing grasslands, his hives thrived in harmony with the farm's environment. The rewards were sweet, and Bee Happy Honey was born—an authentic, sustainable, and environmentally responsible company on a mission to spread happiness!

Terry Dyer has been painting for nearly 20 years. No formal tuition, mainly self-taught.

He enjoys painting as a means of expressing his creativity. His medium is oil on canvas.

Terry paints a variety of images; landscapes, seascapes, boats, reflections, portraits, people, cubist style, mountain scenes and sometimes abstracts. The natural beauty of people and of the environment stimulates him.

Like many painters Terry emphasises the effects and contrasts of light and shadow and strives to have a colourful pallet.

Introducing Susan Dinkelacker

The BACH - Open 7 days, Town Basin, Whangārei.

There is way more to Captain Susan Dinkelacker than meets the eye.

The experienced Northland Rescue Helicopter pilot has been flying Emergency Medical Services (EMS) since 2001, despite some breaks to fly off-shore oil rigs and to focus solely on art – her award-winning sculptures and wood carving in particular.

Susan’s love of wood started in South Africa where her family had a wood turning business.Later, while waiting to fly helicopters from the island of Borneo, Susan developed her own style of carving wood, which she continues to do from her home studio in New Zealand.

Over the years Susan attended woodcarving symposiums in Whangārei, Kawerau and Rotorua where she learnt to reach outside her comfort zone using chainsaws and large chisels on giant logs under time pressure and in public.

Lately Susan has discovered the joys of lino-carving and printing onto fabrics and leather. Her experience in wood carving, together with her love of birds have resulted in a new and affordable line of functional artworks, which are each unique as Susan burnishes each print by hand.
