One of the star works in this auction is a very fine original watercolour of the New Zealand Fernbird, painted in 1905 by J.N. Teape. The image appears in this FB post along with images of other New Zealand birds in this sale. To see any of the images in detail just go to the catalogue and search on the artist’s name.

Worsley, Ray Ching, Jonathan White, John Papas, John-Hall Thorpe, Burton Bros – to name just a few. Hundreds of other recognised artists.
Sale includes over Five hundred 19th and early 20th Century photographs of New Zealand and overseas subjects.

FINAL CALL FOR ENTRIES IN OUR NEXT ART AUCTION:

Heritage Art Auctions has been operating here in Whanganui, with quarterly online art sales over the past 5 years. Our clients are across the country from the Bay of Islands to Stewart Island as well as overseas.

Our next sale starts on Thursday, April 30 and closes some days later. It will also be my last sale. In August I turn 80. It’s time to slow down and cut back on the 12-14 hour days which I’ve worked most of my life.

In this sale we have a number of original paintings by artists such as Peter McIntyre, H.W. Kirkwood, Raymond Ching, Princess Louise (eldest daughter of Queen Victoria and an accomplished artist), Don Hill, Peter Brown and many others.

Although the catalogue is officially closed, we can still accept a small number of quality works in this sale. To be considered, artworks should have a minimum sale value of $250. Going forward, if you wish to sell your art pieces in a specialist art auction you will need to send to either Wellington or Auckland. If you would like to discuss selling any of your art in or final sale, without having to travel to Wellington or Auckland, please call Henry Newrick, day or night, on 027 471 2242. The absolute last date for accepting works is Tuesday April 14.
