Last weekend we opened our doors to everyone who wanted to see inside Albertland Heritage Museum and had a great day! Our volunteers work hard to create new displays and stories about the Albertland settlers for people to enjoy.

We also had some surplus books for sale which helped raise just over $500 which will help the museum immensely.

We still have some books left that can be viewed for the next few weeks. We are open Wed - Sat 11 to 3 and Sun 1 to 3.

If you are interested in any of these bundles let us know but remember PICK UP only at the museum - no postage option available. You can also purchase these books individually.

ANZAC DAY - Saturday 25th April 2026
This Anzac Day is going to be a busy one for our volunteers and community.

At 5.30 am we will gather at the Wellsford War Memorial Gates to honour our servicemen. Immediately afterwards, the museum will open its doors to everyone to enjoy a cup of tea and a freshly baked Anzac biscuit, and catch up and reflect on the significance of this day for our district.

After this, you are welcome to head to the Wellsford RSA, where further events will be taking place to honour our soldiers.

Following a bit of a rest, make your way out to Wharehine for the unveiling of their newly refurbished War Memorial Monument. A special invitation has been extended to descendants of Private Alfred Moffatt, Private Henry Sefton, Private Frank Stables, and Private I. E. Blackburn.

This service begins at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome, and please bring a plate to share for afternoon tea.

Please also mark Wednesday, 29th April 2026, in your diary and join us at our first community meeting to discuss the future of the Wellsford War Memorial Gates. The meeting starts at 7.30 pm. Everyone welcome.
