📢 NEW FEATURED ARTIST: Marara Darlington-Paku
Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Raukawa

Marara’s passion for weaving began at primary school in Ōtaki when her artistically skilled teacher gifted her a gorgeous putiputi (woven flower) for her 10th birthday. This defining moment for Marara sparked a lifelong interest in raranga and toi Māori.

Marara’s artwork mirrors her ancestral ties to Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāti Raukawa, as well as her admiration for Papatūānuku and recreation of traditional Māori raranga techniques.

✨ The Toi Māori Store offers a generous selection of Marara’s unique prints - check them out online! https://maoriart.org.nz/marara-darlington-paku/

IKA KOI

Nā Sophia Soljak
Te Arawa

"This painting draws inspiration from the serene beauty of koi fish, long revered as symbols of perseverance, harmony, and good fortune.

Capturing the mechanics of water is something I have been especially interested in recently and challenges me to find a more intuitive flow in my painting."

🌊 Sophia's artworks are available to purchase from the Toi Māori Store. Check out our website for more! https://maoriart.org.nz/sophia-soljak/
