Kia ora Vincents whanau. It has been quite a week here at Vincents. We had our annual strategic planning day on Saturday, where artists, staff, committee and supporters met to discuss Vincents' direction for the next three years. A big topic of discussion was our response to Wellington City Council declining to fund Vincents through Tahua Whaihua Hapori – Community Outcomes Fund for the coming year, which was confirmed at yesterday's Grants Subcommittee meeting. This means that we will be more heavily reliant on our government funding from MSD, which is targeted to those who have a disability or long-term health condition.
Thanks to all who attended our planning day to help us plan for our future, at a time where funding for community groups is becoming much tighter.
In the meantime, we will keep doing what we do, providing a safe and welcoming space to uplift the wellbeing of all people in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. An example is the wonderful felting workshop run by Fery yesterday (pictured).
