Mōrena, what a beautiful day!

Thanks to those that came out in support of the artists and our new exhibition Pūtahitanga last night.

And a huge mihi to the artists for making such incredible work — Zena Elliott, AJ Manaaki Hope, Heidi Brickell and Nadia Marychurch. Missed you last night Maioha Kara.

This show is on till 24 October and we hope you get a chance to view it.

This series of star maps by Nikau Hindin follows twelve successive Whiro, new moons, from Matariki 2025 to Matariki 2026. Each star map records the rising and setting of stars during Whiro, with the heliacal rising star that announces each lunar month distinguished by a blue symbol in the composition.

Here are some details where you can see some of the star clusters. You'll be able to spy Matariki as the group of nine stars, and Tautoru – also known as Orion's Belt – as the line of three.

Come into the gallery for a closer look! The exhibition ends at 4pm this Saturday.
