Our Adult Clay Workshops for the Promote Waipu Winter Festival are filling up fast, and there are only a few spaces left in our Night Creatures workshop!

This workshop pair is all about imagination, creativity, and having a bit of fun with clay. Create your own night creature, whether that's a moth, owl, hedgehog, slug, bat, wētā, or something entirely of your own invention. You'll be guided through shaping, building, and bringing your creature to life.

Need some inspiration? Step outside tonight, torch in hand, and see what creatures emerge after dark. You might just meet your next clay creation.

Come along, get your hands dirty, and make something wonderfully weird, whimsical, or wild.

Tiny art. Big personalities. One very good winter night out.

Join us for the opening night of All The Little Things at the Black Shed Art Space, a community exhibition packed with small works by local artists that prove size really has nothing to do with impact.

Some pieces might make you laugh. Some might make you stop and stare. Some you’ll wish you’d spotted first. That’s the fun of it.

Expect a gallery full of tiny artworks with huge energy, bubbles in hand, music playing, good conversation, and a room buzzing with creativity and curious people.

Get your hands muddy this winter! ✨

As part of the Winter in Waipu Festival, we’re running a series of fun two-part clay workshops at the Black Shed Art Space. Make your own night creature or coral reef wall sculpture, or keep things functional with a handmade mug or dipping bowls.

A neat chance to get creative, try something new, and make something uniquely yours. Suitable for mixed abilities, with a follow-up glazing session included.
