This motor is a hand crank COVENTRY CLIMAX.
4 cylinder, out of an ex-army generator.
After a rebuild and some TLC it runs quite nicely

When the kids won't get out from under your feet because its "to cold".🥶
Bring them down to the museum for our monthly steam day.
It will be about 120 degrees🥵, that should keep them warm 😁

They learnt about hand washing clothes, Morse code, butter making and blacksmithing steel.

Sometimes when you look around the museum you see garden art, but every piece of garden art tells a story.
This log jinker came from Lagoon Rd between Rotorua and Tauranga.
It was used to haul logs out by Bullock train.

Today a group from the museum went over to Tauranga museum to look at their collection,
Primarily to learn about clean storage, preservation, research and signage that tells a story.
But,
Highlight of the trip was finding this cart made by Cooper and Curd.
Cooper was the grandfather of Kevin Cooper (pictured) the current chair of our museum

Its all go at the museum this week.
Amalgamated roofing is here replacing the roof on the workshop and blacksmiths and installing the chimney on the 2nd forge.
The volunteers are really happy to see this happening.
