Good Afternoon ☺️ Eden Cafe/Bakery, The Art Gallery, And The Fashion Boutique will all be closing for Good Friday ( 3rd April ) and will be reopening on Saturday at 8am. We’ll also be Open on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Have a Great Weekend 🥧

Eden Cafe will be closing by 1pm today, due to staff being unwell 🙂 We will have fresh pies, sausage rolls and baking available before then. We also have fresh hot cross bun packs on our baking shelf ✝️

Hey Everyone! 👋 Hope you are all keeping safe and dry. We have decided to remain CLOSED tomorrow ( Friday 27th ), due to flooding and slips. The art Gallery and Fashion Boutique will be doing the same.

Looking forward to serving our Fresh Hot cross buns, Homemade Pies, and other goodies on Saturday, opening 7:30am 😊 thanks!

Kia ora whānau,

Due to personal reasons, I’ve made the decision to place Te Manawa Café up for sale.

I know this journey has been short-lived, but I’m genuinely proud of the many improvements that have been made and where the café is at now. Running a café largely on your own takes long hours, constant commitment, and a lot of unseen work. At this time, I need to step back and prioritise my wellbeing.

The foundations are in place — it simply needs a cook or someone passionate to come in and take over, especially while the season is high and foot traffic is strong. This is a great opportunity for the right person to build on what’s already been created and carry it forward.

Until the café is sold, we will continue to develop, grow, and improve, and provide the best coffee, food, and service possible.

I’d kindly ask for support without judgement or criticism around this decision. It is a sensitive matter, and one that has not been taken lightly.

The café will be offered at a reasonable price.

As we move into Christmas, our brother Dallin has remembered his dear mother by placing her name on our remembrance tree. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who are absent but never forgotten. One side of each heart holds a name we carry close; on the other, the gifts that cost nothing to give — love, kindness, gratitude, patience, listening, sharing, prayer, forgiveness, quality time, a simple foot rub… and so much more.

A warm hug from a lovely lady today was a quiet reminder of just how powerful kindness can be.

I am deeply grateful for the aroha and thoughtfulness shown this season — to Fiona, who brought in tiramisu for tomorrow’s community meal, and to Lisa for the bucket of strawberries. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

May your Christmas be filled with wonder and delight in the small, sacred moments, and may we always remember its true meaning — the Light of the World, and at the centre of it all, our Saviour, Christ. 🙏
