It has been said, that the man that sold the shovels to the miners made more than the Goldminers themselves. I couldn't help but imagine the miners working their way up this creek bed in search of a fortune , or more realistically the hope of making enough to survive .

Always learning, thankyou to Mark and Liz from Central Digital Imaging who encouraged me to use black card for this image.
Normally I frame my images with white card but this one went from a ' not a bad image ' to a 'wow' ( to me at least) because of the card.
Taking this photo was also a lesson, on the ground there really wasn't a photo to be had as it was getting dark and the contrasts i was hoping for didn't exist.
But from above.....( a life lesson there im sure😉)
Currently in the gallery but untitled as I want the title to sum up a feeling that it evokes.

The Merchant store that once offered provisions for the Goldminers in these parts has well and truly gone , but tonight it was as if a light shone just one more time . The site is some miles from the town ,somehow that makes it even more special.
The photo was as you see it. The tall poplars absorbing what little light was left as the sunset behind cloud.
