Silent Auction for a Queenstown Family ❤️

We are holding a silent auction in support of a family going through an incredibly difficult time.

A father of three has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and has been given a very limited time to live. This lovely family have done so much for others in our community, and now it’s our turn to give back.

We are donating this collage artwork 'Windows to the Soul' for a silent auction, with all proceeds above the $10,000 reserve going directly to the family.

The highest offer received by 5 June will win the auction.

The hope is to give them the chance to slow down, spend precious time together, and create meaningful memories in the time they have left.

If you feel moved to be part of this, we’d love to hear from you.
Please DM us, email [email protected], or text +64 21 499 477 to place a bid or offer.

Thank you for your kindness and support 🤍

ISAAC PETERSEN >

From Isaac’s latest body of work, currently on view at Artbay Gallery. Visit us daily, 11am–5pm.

Isaac Petersen is a contemporary New Zealand oil painter whose practice is shaped by a deep sensitivity to place. Influenced by his upbringing along the rugged west coast of the North Island, and now informed by time spent between New Plymouth and Byron Bay, his work evokes a quiet interplay between memory, atmosphere and landscape.

“I hope to leave the viewer with a good feeling. Whether they can relate to my painting through a past experience, or through a fantasy of somewhere they would like to go, my painting should take them there.”

INTRODUCING > Dawn Conn

We are delighted to welcome Dawn Conn to Artbay Gallery.

A contemporary sculptor, Dawn is known for her emotive bronze and resin figures that capture the essence of memory, movement and human connection. Her work holds quiet, intimate moments, gestures, pauses and fragments of lived experience, inviting viewers into a space of reflection, nostalgia and presence.

Born and raised on a rural New Zealand farm, Dawn’s early life was shaped by nature, openness and the rhythm of everyday moments. After many years working in other fields and raising a family, she rediscovered her creative voice during a sculpture retreat, a pivotal moment that led her toward a deeply intuitive sculptural practice.

She later undertook formal study, including at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, where she refined a distinctive sculptural language. Her figures are characterised by expressive posture, textured surfaces and a sense of captured movement, each piece holding a story felt as much as seen.

Dawn’s work has received international recognition, including selection for Sculpture by the Sea Bondi in 2025, alongside multiple gold awards at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and a feature on Home Is Where the Art Is. Recently featured on Seven Sharp, Dawn is also preparing for the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London alongside New Zealand garden designer Siobhan Keating, with their collaborative garden *Under Southern Skies* bringing together sculpture, landscape and storytelling on an international stage. Her sculptures are now held in collections across New Zealand and internationally.

SILENT ART AUCTION >
SOLD !!! We’ve received a bid of 12 k from a kind donor - Thankyou so much Mark !!

We’re holding a silent auction to support a local family going through an incredibly difficult time.

A mother of two young daughters has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has been given very limited time. In response, artist Rachael Errington, together with Artbay Gallery, is donating 100% of the proceeds from this work directly to the family.

The intention is simply to give them the chance to be together.
To slow things down, to hold each other close, and to create meaningful memories in the time they have.

We are hoping to raise $10,000 through this auction, so a bid of over 10 k will win the auction , or the highest offer up to 10 k will be accepted at the close of the day on April 24. All funds will be passed on immediately so the family can use this time in the way that matters most.
