⬇️ MILARKY ⬇️

One more massive announcement to end the week. Milarky, the incredible, creative visionary will be exhibiting works in Queenstown for the very first time as part of our upcoming exhibition.

Milarky focuses within the realm of Nomadism and what can be aligned as ’the Return to Nomadity’ of our species due to the misled ability to care for the Earth. Nomadism being a response to the environment, an adaption through a generationally founded ability to attune to nature, as opposed to our societies current mind set to tune the land to our desired ways.

This is hugely exciting not just for us but for the whole area. Show starts on the 15th of November.

Exciting new works by will be launching as part of our upcoming exhibition - From The Streets To The Peaks - available from the 15th of November.

Bold and primal, SWEATS creates expressive work that’s rooted in feeling over formula. His pieces begin in abstraction—colour, rhythm, and motion—before faces, figures, and features like eyes, lips, and teeth emerge. The process is instinctive, driven by emotion and energy, aiming to strike the senses first and let meaning follow. At times, the effect edges into synaesthesia—where colour feels like sound and texture carries mood—inviting viewers to connect with the layered, unfiltered experience of being human in their own way.

What comes through is a mix of off-beat energy, unusual details, and pure experimentation. Collisions and impulsive imperfections come together to form faces that don’t quite conform but feel raw, alive, and full of character. There’s beauty in the unrefined—a kind of truth that’s as much about what’s left open as what’s intentional.

⬇️ JAMES HUNT ⬇️

Another fantastic addition to The Arts Hole and to Queenstown is Auckland based painter, illustrator, and muralist James Hunt.

His work explores themes of joy, the environment, and the messy beauty of learning—often through bold colours and a playful visual language that invites viewers to slow down and feel good for a moment.

James has been making art since childhood and began exhibiting more seriously in recent years after building momentum through group shows around Auckland since 2017. His solo exhibitions, ADHD Superpowers at Eyes on Fire Gallery (2024) and Nice Art to Look At and Hopefully Make You Feel Good at Studio One Toi Tū (2022) reflect his ongoing interest in creating work
that’s emotionally resonant and openly optimistic.

He continues to develop his practice through mural commissions, illustration projects, and explorations of how art can bring joy into everyday spaces.

We cannot wait to launch James’ new pieces as part of our upcoming exhibition - From The Streets To The Peaks - opening the 15th of November. Reach out for any more information 🤿

⬇️ AGATE RUBENE ⬇️

We have another supremely talented new artist to launch as part of our upcoming show, Auckland based artist and illustrator, Agate Rubene. We love her use of clean lines and a minimal pallet to creates bold, expressive paintings. Another very exciting addition to Queenstown and the gallery.

With a background in fashion, Agate began her creative journey through fashion illustration—a foundation that has significantly influenced her artistic style. Her work centers around people and their actions, capturing emotion and celebrating life’s pleasures with a light-hearted tone. She uses bright colour palettes, fluid shapes, and vibrant characters to craft alternative realities. Her artworks are inspired by daily personal experiences, mood, and the aesthetic of pop culture.

Works available from the 15th of November. Get in touch for any pre opening enquiries - [email protected]

Starting his artistic journey in 2017, the desire to create art soon became an unyielding obligation to himself to explore the inner mechanism of his creative consciousness. From small canvasses to large-scale projects, Jacob’s art is a highly personal reflection of himself, displaying objectives circling pain and heartbreak, coming of age, happiness and sadness, and struggles of anxiety while always bringing to life the light through darkness.

Jacob has been lucky enough to have participated in many collaborative projects, also exhibiting in a solo capacity as young as 19, and curated a group art exhibition with profits going to Mental Health New Zealand. Beyond this, living in the hustle of Los Angeles back in August 2019, the beginning quarter of 2022 and again in 2024 has brought him renowned clientele and further experience creating murals using his signature approach of stencils, acrylic and aerosols.

Elegance is our last remaining piece from first drop. Painted on a reclaimed shipping pallet, it’s bold and punchy and really stands out on the wall - its presence is almost guaranteed to get people talking 🔥

Born May 4, 1958, in Pennsylvania, Keith Haring went on to have a brief but explosive career, dying at the age of only 31 in 1990. Haring will forever be loved for his desire to make his artwork available to as many people as possible.

On several occasions, he gave his artwork away for free and in 1986, he opened a retail store called the Pop Shop with the specific intention of allowing people greater access to his work, bringing criticism from the art world. Haring however, remained committed to his desire to make his artwork available to as wide an audience as possible, and received strong support from friends, fans and mentors, including Andy Warhol. Throughout his career, Haring also devoted much of his time to public works, which often carried social messages, many of which were created for charities, hospitals, children’s day care centres and orphanages.

After his first official solo exhibition in 1982, Haring was asked to design a poster for the 1983 Montreux Jazz Festival. He produced a trio of posters in 1983, then teamed up with Andy Warhol for another in 1986. David Bowie produced a poster in 1995, and more recently, Yoann Lemoine (aka Woodkid) and Malika Favre have done the same.

These authentic Jazz Festival release posters are printed by Serigraphie Uldry Bern, Switzerland, using the same screens as the original festival. They look stunning framed and offer an incredibly well priced option from one of the most important artists of our generation 🔥

Banksy’s Flying Copper is another iconic, early piece, first appearing as several giant cut-outs suspended from the ceiling at the legendary Turf War exhibition in 2003. The cut-outs were later spotted on the streets of Vienna and London, where the stencil appeared with a distinct red Banksy tag through the middle of it. Shoreditch Bridge also featured a row of Flying Coppers, which went on to feature in the documentary “How To Sell A Banksy” after being “removed”. The smiling face juxtaposed with an assault rifle and armour shows a striking image of oppression and threat hiding behind a friendly face, a classic Banksy blend of authority and humour, also evoking the 1990s acid house culture.

Flying Copper was later released as a limited edition screen print later that same year, described by Banksy and Pictures on Walls as a “Deluxe and very large screenprint of a flying pig. Apparently popular with the boys in blue (actually true).” To this day, it remains one of his most recognised images and is famously one of the largest Banksy prints released at 100cm x 70cm.

Presented in fantastic condition, this rare, early print has been framed to full museum standard with Optium Acrylic glazing, giving incredible protection and clarity. It’s in hand in our Queenstown gallery and available for immediate viewing/purchase 🔥
