The Franklin Art Centre is a flexible exhibition space of international standard that hosts exhibitions in two galleries - the Community Gallery which showcases predominantly local artists, and the New Zealand Steel Gallery with a programme of both national, regional and local artists.

Experience the up-and-coming star power of our youth.
Featuring artist alumni from Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO), an Auckland Council initiative that provides an important pathway in development for rangatahi. Promoting song writing, musicianship, dance performance excellence and a culture of music in schools throughout the Tāmaki Makaurau region.

On Saturday we had a mini loom weaving workshop with local weaver and exhibiting artist Frances Stevens. Participants were shown the basics of weaving with mini cardboard looms where they could create Rivers-inspired miniature hangings or bookmarked shaped weaves.
