Eyes On Fire is excited to invite you to Join us this Friday 1 May, 6–8pm at 15 Great North Road for the opening of e kapu tī māu? – A cup of tea for you?
Celebrate 20 years of developing and nurturing connections through print in Aotearoa with Toi Whakaata – Māori Print Collective (2006–2026), and experience a collective response to whanaungatanga through acts of manaakitanga, anchored in the sharing of a cup of tea.
Featuring works by Gabrielle Belz, Faith McManus, Alexis Neal, Vanessa Edwards, Jasmine Horton, Jude Gordon, Natalie Couch, Emma Kitson, Ruth Greencole, Tania Lewis-Rickard, Leigh Tawharu, Todd Sheridan, Nick Tupara and Julia Barber.

(Dis)connection is a visual diary of intimacy after rupture, tracing the emotional landscape of modern dating. Through fragmented figures, symbols, and text, the works explore vulnerability, fleeting connections, and the tension between openness and disposability in contemporary relationships.

Exploring love, loss, and dating in the digital age, the exhibition unravels intimacy through fragments, memory, and emotional distortion.

Italian-born, Tāmaki Makaurau–based artist CaLoRa presents (Dis)connection, a raw and intimate body of work shaped by the aftermath of a long-term relationship and a return to modern dating.

Working between experience and emotional response, these paintings function as fragments—moments, echoes, and attempts to make sense of connection, rupture, and repetition.

In a world where everything is within reach, connection still slips through.
