The West Coast Gallery is a dynamic community arts venue, which exhibits and sells the artworks of over 200 artists all residing in the West Coast Waitakere Ranges of Auckland. The gallery is an essential hub of artistic activity in the area, hosting regular events and art projects encouraging community involvement. In 2000 when the new fire station was being built at Piha, a group of local artist

s saw the possibility of the old volunteer fire station becoming an arts centre for the local and wider community. An arts trust was formed with the mission statement - “to promote and encourage the enjoyment of, and participation in the Arts, in all its forms, for the community”. The West Coast Gallery is set up as a registered charitable trust, the West Coast Community Arts Trust.

Artist Peter Force is celebrated for his dynamic artworks, which are distinguished by expressive brushstrokes that convey vibrant movement. His paintings exude a captivating energy and his most recent exhibition, Evidence of Human Activity, opens this Saturday, 30th of May.

Peter will be at the gallery from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Come along and enjoy some delicious pastries kindly donated by crafty baker in Titirangi. Thank you crafty baker for supporting the arts like you do.
