There was such a great vibe at our Petone seaside gallery yesterday, the first day of the Lower Hutt Art Trail with art trailers enjoying seeing all the wonderful local art on display AND watching it being created.

In our upstairs gallery space, Dean Cooper has a great display of new photographs and Marianne Linton de Boer a beautiful display of her new paintings. In our main gallery four artists are Jolene Maciak - printmaking, Emmi - sculpture, Cate Pates ceramics and myself with new watercolours.

We're looking forward to another exciting day today, the 2nd day of our art trail. And we're excited that Beachside Real Fruit Ice Cream is open again for the season.

It's all action at our Petone seaside gallery with lots of art trailers visiting already and lots of arty action happening with demonstrations by our artists. Here Jolene Maciak is showing us how she creates her magical prints, starting with lino cutting. Cate Pates is making a clay whale (I think she said that she saw one passing in front of the gallery?). Marianne Linton is painting the view from the upstairs gallery and Alfred Memelink is trying to paint a more summery view of Wellington.

It's Friday afternoon and we're just adding a few finishing touches to the displays of our six artists of the Lower Hutt Art Trail , this weekend, Sat 17 and Sun 18th Oct

Artists hosted by our Petone seaside gallery are Dean Cooper - Photography, Marianne Linton de Boer Acrylics, Jolene Maciak - Prints, Emmi - Sculptures, Ceramics by Cate Pates and watercolours of Wellington by myself, Alfred Memelibnk.

And this weekend is the reopening of Christine Hanks Ranford's Beachside Real Fruit Ice Cream for this summer season.

We're looking forward to a fun creative weekend.

Bringing the Outside In
The view looking out of the gallery window this morning, just like this painting ready for my exhibition for the Lower Hutt art trail this weekend. Just in case the weather may not be that great, there's free and easy parking right outside and it;s nice and warm inside. Our six art trail artists are all set up ready to go and looking forward to greet you and talk about their art. There will also be demonstrations.

Today was Cate's turn to set up for the Lower Hutt Art Trail Cate Pates is a Hutt Ceramic artist and here she is prepping the labels for her exquisite creations. Cate joins five other artists at our seaside gallery :- Dean Cooper Marianne Linton de Boer Emmi, Jolene Maciak and myself.

And don't forget tomorrow, Friday evening, our gallery is also hosting Alexandra Ranford for a performance as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival

It's going to be a arty fun weekend AND Christine is opening Beachside Real Fruit Ice Cream for the season.
