This NZ Music Month, the McNicol Homestead and Museum celebrates local pioneers The Clevedonaires. Formed in 1962, this Clevedon family band rose from practising in the farm shed to touring internationally as The Cleves. Discover their story and classic sounds this weekend!

Remember the Clevedonaires?
Before they took on Australia and Britain as The Cleves, Gaye, Graham, and Ron Brown, along with guitarists Milton Lane and Rob Aicken, were just local kids with a passion for live British and American pop. From gigs in the Clevedon and Otau Halls to appearing on local TV shows like C'mon, they truly paved their own way.

This fantastic photograph capturing their early days was recently donated to the museum by Ron Brown.

It's Christmas Parade Day in Clevedon!
Wave hello to John from the Clevedon & Districts Historic Society, who is joining the parade this afternoon in style!
Pictured here leaving the beautiful McNicol Homestead, John is proudly wearing his best Christmas socks and riding the classic “Butchers Bike”! 🎅🚲 A great way to represent local history.
This is a special year—it’s the 25th annual Clevedon Christmas Parade!
The tradition began back in 2000 with 17 floats, organized by the dedicated Clevedon Residents Association of the day with Santa arriving in style in a red Model A Ford Roadster
