Some new ceramics bas-relief creations for Kapiti Art Trail, coming up the first two weekends of November 2025.
I'm experimenting with paint backgrounds on board.
The first picture is inspired by Charles Rennie McIntosh. I call it 'Nature to Decor'. The background is illustrated with black and white suggesting natural forms, then nature finds more definite form in the cascade of roses, and then the ceramic decorative tiles use Rennie-McIntosh inspired rose motifs provide the 'decor' component.
The second piece is called 'Armenian Archaeology', using an ancient design for the ceramic plate and the manuscript designs are drawn from 14th century Biblical illustrated manuscripts. The designs shown are drawn from illustrated Gospel texts. And all artistically 'antiqued' in keeping with the archaeology theme.

The Old Courthouse Gallery, located on the main Old SH1 road at Otaki (opposite the BP petrol station) is featuring an exhibition of my art work during February.
There will be an OPENING EVENT on Saturday 10th February between 11.00 am and 12.30 pm.

One of the latest artworks, getting ready for the Kapiti Arts Trail. Hand-crafted bas-relief ceramic head, with textile decoration in ethnic Nigerian cottons - derived from my textile stash collected up during my working travels.
I lived in Nigeria for 18 months during 2011-2012 and was fascinated with the Nigerian traditional dress and headwraps.
