We explore various building techniques, proportions, textures, finishes and problem solving. Each person will work to their own individual design with guidance. Work will be suitable for firing.

Hand-Building Clay with Nicoletta Benella (8 Weeks) Last hours to register.
Starts Thursday 15 October to 3 December :12:30pm to 3:15pm

This interactive class with our wonderful tutor Nico is for students who would like to try their hand at being creative. In this non-threatening class you will learn about clay and how to hand-build various items. You will create a range of things from clay coil bowls, serving plates patterned with doilies, or trinket bowls. Bring your own projects. There is no pressure in this class just meeting new people and learning something new and having creative fun that is great for your overall health. Bring a friend/s. Cafe on site for a delicious snack and coffee.

Claire will take you from beginner through the process of learning how to draw starting from foundational skills. Whether you’ve never picked up a pencil before or you’ve been frustrated by your progress, Claire’s structured 8-week drawing roadmap will guide you step by step from the fundamentals of drawing to creating confident, realistic portraits. Designed specifically for beginners, the program breaks drawing down into simple, achievable weekly lessons. You’ll develop a strong foundation, learn to see and understand form, light and shadow, and build the skills needed to bring your drawings to life through deliberate, manageable practice, you’ll transform uncertainty into confidence—one pencil stroke at a time.
