Meg Gaddum Art

Meg Gaddum Art I describe myself as an abstract landscape painter using mainly oils or encaustic.

Environmental issues concern me, so I have chosen the least toxic ways of making my art.

Continuing my blocks series. I have been working on four of these middle sized works, dropping into frames temporarily to see better.

Some of what’s available is on my studio wall. I love to display art close together anyway as sometimes they make each other pop! Or develop a relationship. They make me feel great too as I walk out of the studio. These are oil paintings or encaustic paintings.
You can tell I love colour but I use colour principles to guide me otherwise it could be a disastrous love affair:-)

Home from an exhibition, I always wander through my studio with thoughtfulness. My eyes light up when I see favourite works.
This one pictured is part of my Blocks series .
( I have a lot available at my Ohiwa studio if you like to visit🙂)
It’s my view of our landscapes and built world which is dominated by grids and blocks. Not everything needs to have organic natural forms to be appreciated although I am a lover of nature and spend a lot of time in it.
That’s why I paint in oils, and have another journey in encaustic, the least non toxic forms of painting. No VOCs emitting on your walls, these methods are plant based.
What do you think?
