Founded in May 2005 Classic Flyers NZ is located next to Tauranga City Airport. With facilities such as an Aviation history museum, Function/Conference centre, Avgas Cafe & Bar, Flight training and classic adventure flights. We cater Children’s birthday parties as well as adults. Also a cafe with a playground called ‘Torpedo Park’ an aviation themed Playground. Take a look in our lovely gift shop, and dine in or takeaway from our scrumptious breakfast and lunch menu. Open everyday and Friday evenings from 4pm til late.

The Rescue Helicopter provides a vital, lifesaving service to our community, responding when people need it most. We’re pleased to play a small part in helping raise awareness and support for the incredible work they do. 🙌

Zavier and I had a treat on Sunday when Mike and Nick headed out for a “famil” flight in Mikes newly reconstructed Yak 7B aptly named “Liberte”. ✈️

(Callsign “Yak 2-1”)

Heres a few pics taken from Airtrainer35 that Zavier managed to capture as they loosened up out to the East of Maketu. 📸✈️

I reckon the slightly squat appearance - with the broad wheelbase “on the ground” converts quickly to a provocative and very determined look in the air. 🔥

The Allison also sounds great. 🎶✈️

The overall job performed is a credit to Jay and his team and all who have contributed. 👏

Congratulations getting past the first stage Mike - enjoy the next part of your journey with her. 🛩️

Im sure we will too.

The crew are excited to be hosting the NZ Marina Operations Association Conference on Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th September.
Due to the event, our Aviation Museum is fully closed for these two days. (Come grab a pass for your next visit!)

But don’t let that stop you from popping in! ☕ Our Gift Shop will be open, and the team at AvGas Café & Bar will be serving up great coffee and plenty of tasty options.

The Aviation Museum will be fully open and back to normal from Friday 25th September. Thanks for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon! ✈️
