The Book Fair starts tomorrow! We have loads of new books this year — come grab some bargains. The air con is on in the museum if you fancy a visit, the special mystery hunt is extended for the long weekend, Kōtare Cafe is pumping in the sun, and there’s new plushies in the shop! See you at the museum!

Our next special exhibition is Te Wāhi Whai | Stingray Station. Come celebrate and learn about the kaitiaki of Mangawhai — we’re covering both rays big and small. Another interactive experience the whole family will enjoy.

🌊 Welcome Mangawhai Museum to the RŪNĀ whānau! ⛵

We’re excited to welcome Mangawhai Museum as they partner with Mangawhai Sailing Club to help bring RŪNĀ learning to life.

Together, they’ll support the delivery of Kōrinorino - Our Ancestors’ Wake, connecting tamariki with local stories, history and the journeys that have shaped their place, alongside aspects of Moanamana - Ocean Respect and learning about the marine environment.

It’s a fantastic example of what can happen when sailing clubs and local organisations work together, similar to the partnership between Bay of Islands Yacht Club and Waitangi Education.

We can’t wait to see where this partnership leads. 💙
