Collection of photos of current projects and the calm before the storm. Helga's round house, the base/floor of Luke's house, the kitchen is almost done. We've seen some extreme winds and wet weather at the village in the past. Our main concern is always high winds damaging temporary covers and potential tree fall. Hopefully, the next update won't be showcasing any damage.

The weather is changing, and it marks a time for us to clean up all the 'farb' we tend to leave lying around when we're building in the winter. Next time we head up, the rest of the cleanup will be done. That will allow us to carry on finishing building projects, which will get all the 'farb' gone!

Another great weekend at the village!
Great progress made on the kitchen. Now that it's waterproofed we can replace old timber fletching's on the outside of the building, refit the interior and straw the roof.

"I've learnt a lot while putting this house together. Having never built anything more than a planter box back in school, it's been a great experience. At some point, I will have to create videos discussing it. Originally, when I was researching 'Viking pit houses', I was excited to do it as historically accurate as possible. However, due to access to materials, location, time frames, and other factors, changes had to be made. I'm still very pleased with what is almost the final outcome. And I've got plans to showcase historical building techniques, but on a smaller scale" - Liam
