Sunday inspiration ✨
Spend your Sunday discovering the beautiful works of artist Justine Jensen. Her striking exploration of form, texture, and expressive lines creates a collection full of depth and movement 😍
"Justine’s art draws inspiration from the rich landscapes and vibrant birdlife that makes New Zealand so distinctively beautiful. Making bold use of colour and playful abstraction, Justine captures the essence of the natural world.
Over the years, she has worked across a wide range of mediums, spanning both painting and ceramics. The original works and prints in this exhibition reflect her fascination with the fluidity of colour achieved through acrylic inks and watercolours, contrasted with the texture of mixed media and ink pencil on high quality watercolour paper.
Justine’s move into ceramics was sparked by her daughter’s interest in pottery. While her main interest is hand-building, she has also become skilled on the pottery wheel. Her creative use of line and focus on colour has been carried across into her ceramic art. Each stage of creation is completed by her own hand, including the design of templates, stamps, and textures.
Based in Christchurch, Justine lives with her husband, daughter and 2 siberian cats, near Bottle Lake Forest—a setting that continually fuels her creativity—working from a garage studio filled with pottery wheels, tools, and her kiln."
A perfect way to slow down and enjoy the weekend.
