One of a largish series of Simpsons jigsaws this is the Citizens of Springfield.
After a couple of false starts (deciding I couldn't face all that yellow and boxing it back up again), I've finally finished this 2012 one and can pop it on the RGnG market table as complete... yay 👏👏

The hardest thing for me with a circular jigsaw is getting the shape while trying to figure out just where things are supposed to go.
This 1980 jigsaw was especially created for 'The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds' and Waddingtons by Alan Harris.
Every piece is a different shape, which is great but also confusing at times. The colors are excellent, and the interlock condition is still tight once made.
For being 46 years old, it's lovely!
This one was a little frustrating but also fun to finish 🖖

It's been 25 years since the D.E.K.A. department store chain closed its doors in New Zealand. As a teenager, the Hastings store was a treasure trove. Walk in the front door, wander through window shopping and eyeing up the next spend of pocket money and then head out the back door, and off through the carpark we would go.
It feels now, looking back, that it was somewhere in between todays Warehouse and Farmers in regards to quality and price.

This cute wee pot starts out looking like a teapot base. But then the lid goes on and it turns into an 'easy peasy lemon squeezy' 🍋

It is totally unmarked, but is circa 1940/50 from what I can work out. Some information puts it even earlier... the 1920s, but I'm not sure 🤔. There is crazing, with a small crack or two, but on the whole life has been good to this windmill.

I've just been cleaning up these wonderful late 1920s / early 1930s Halex Xylonite (made in England) dressing table pieces, which belonged to a friend's mother.

Xylonite is an early celluloid used for this type of item, mirrors, brushes, combs, handles, etc, and used as an alternative to ivory and tortoiseshell. Often coming with these pieces as a set, the tray and container are the only two of this one.

That green marbling is stunning!

The packet is fragile and starring to break, but the wee pair inside have come to join the Museum whanau.
I love adding to my Kiwiana collection and even more so to the village of souvenir and other doll examples. This is the first one that is a direct pair and attached to this kind of stand ❣️
