Welcome to the Kihikihi Police House and Temple Cottage - a volunteer-run heritage site on Lyon Street, Kihikihi.

Our grounds hold three pieces of local history: the 1907 Police House (the only one of its kind still on its original site in New Zealand), the 1870s Temple Cottage where Isabella Temple was born and lived for 92 years, and the old jail cell.

📅 OPEN DAYS
- 1st Sunday of each month — 11am to 2pm
- 3rd Wednesday of each month — 1pm to 3pm

Drop by for a tour, a cuppa, and a look through our collection of artefacts, costumes, and old books. School groups and private tours can be arranged outside these hours — send us an email to get in touch.

Follow us for open day reminders, stories from the collection, and news from the trust.
