“Sing with us, Toia mai he waka, he waka nei, haere mai rā haere mai…🎶”
Haere atu rā e Jools.. E tangi ana, e mihi ana, moe mai rā e Dame Jools Topp.

Aroha tino nui, our condolences to Dame Lynda, Bruce & Jean.

Fitting it is NZ Music Month as we mourn the passing of a national taonga, musical legend Jools Topp.

The Topp Twins are incomparable, a twin sister duo that gave us decades of rich harmonies, blending folk music, country, yodeling, waiata Māori and sharp, character-driven comedy.

Beloved & respected as activists & entertainers as young “Untouchable Girls” busking in the 70’s & 80’s their street shows became so massive that they were taken to court in 1989 for obstructing a footpath on Queen Street, Auckland.

Unflinching advocates for social justice, they sung folk & protest songs on many hikoi & Māori land occupations, their special blend of musical humour graced triathlons & speedway races, from A&P shows to the Pasifika festival & countless stages in town halls to screens across the nation. Their tv series celebrated while critically assessing our country - particularly ‘kiwi culture’ with unforgettable laugh out loud antics of comedic characters, like the iconic Camp Leader, Camp Mother, Ken & Ken.

Watch Jools & Lynda as the twin-set Dilly & Prue singing out a Xmas festival audience in 2020 with their ditty ‘Pukana & Pearls.’

Gracious to the end.
“We love you, see ya darling.”

Ka maumahara tonu tātou ki a rātou ~ We will remember them.
This phrase honours fallen soldiers, particularly on Anzac Day. It signifies an enduring commitment to remembering the sacrifices made by the 28th Māori Battalion and all service personnel who died in wars and conflicts.
At the setting of the sun, and in the morning. We will remember them ~ I te tōnga o te rā, tae noa ki te ata. Ka maumahara mātou i a rātou.

NAU MAI 11am, Tuesday 14th April ~ Tomorrow we launch our special ANZAC Autograph Wall.
Our team will be ready with the source 'Autograph Book' for you to look through ~ Memories of Gallipoli: The Autograph Books of Sister Florence Duckett, offers rare & poignant personal perspectives on Gallipoli by reproducing and contextualising three original autograph books filled by wounded soldiers between 1915 and 1917.
Help us commemorate with your own message of remembrance, gratitude, humour, or a sketch or mihi maumahara. Arohatia ❤️ANZAC
