Karamatura Heritage Farm Trust To preserve the rural landscape and rural heritage activity of the settlers of the Karamatura Valley. All work is done by volunteers.

To preserve the rural landscape and heritage farming practices of the Settlers of the area. The Trust is associated with and supplements the Huia Settlers Museum by housing old agricultural equipmen

t and farming heritage livestock and poultry.The Trust has a licence from Auckland Council to graze 8 ha of Auckland Regional Farm Park land, and ONLY for the purpose of farming "old breeds" of livestock and poultry. The land licensed to the Trust still retains all normal Regional Park purposes and is accessible to the public under the same terms and conditions as the rest of the Regional Parkland. The trust with its volunteers and other members of the community run a special Farm Day event every Waitangi Day, where activities like sheep shearing, tractor rides and pony rides are offered to raise money for the running of the trust. We have also planted 40 Heritage Fruit trees around the property.
