Tickets now on sale for the sessions at DramFest. I’ve just booked a couple with Ardnamurchin. Really keen on hearing from Alex Bruce. The man’s a legend.

Whisky Galore has its latest auction running. There are some nice whiskies in there. For the Springbank lovers there is a a 1966 Local Barley there. Shame its not the Sherry Cask. I might have been tempted on it if it was.

Have a look and see if there are any Christmas tipples that would hitting the spot this festive season.

Had a wee visit to the Blair Athol distillery today. I really enjoyed it but my god I wish they produced more than the 12yr for the single malt market. I tried a 29yr today that was sensational. I would pay good money for a bottle of that.

Yesterday was Glengoyne day. I did the Malt Master tour which includes a dram at the beginning of the tour and then at the end where you get to create your own 200ml bottling with a mixture of up to 5 different single malts to get it to your own unique profile. This was a lot of fun, experimenting with the flavours and bringing it together. Well worth the £105 for the experience.

If you are ever over this way I highly recommend a visit.

Wandering through the streets of Oban I find myself in one of the backs streets and discover the most wonderful whisky bar. This is The Whisky Vaults. Here you will find a fabulous selection of whiskies. A dram for everyone. The staff are so friendly and very knowledgeable. Honestly I know tomorrow after I have done the distillery tour I will be back again for another.

Now to finish of my Oban Young Teddy. One that I am sure will have not graced the shelves of bars in NZ.
