The 150 th celebrations kicked off with a throwback to yesterday's years, courtesy of the Glorivalle brass band. Both young and old gathered to reminisce, learn, chat, and unite in the community of being from the creek. The displays of photographs and information sparked people's interest, and the jubilee cake was cut by Nelson Creek friends Kevin, Barney, Malcom and Colin. The night celebration proceeded with dancing and live music, fun for young and old. Sunday saw in another warm, sunny day for the annual wood-chopping competition and a hangi to end the celebrations. It was a big weekend made very successful by all who attended, and a big shout-out to the Nelson Creek Community Society ,Glorivalle Community and special gratitude and thanks go to Emma Daly for her hard work and organisation in making the 150th celebration a great success.
