Feilding's Museum is home to an outstanding collection of rural NZ heritage, showcasing over 140 years of history. Enjoy a fascinating historical journey through the lives of our early settlers, their horse-drawn vehicles, farming machinery and heritage. Through the use of historic vehicles our story is told with collections including: Maori & the early Manawatu natural landscape, Early European Settlement & Land Development, The Horse-Drawn Era, The impressive and fully restored Crawshaw Collection of John Deere Tractors & Ancillary Machinery, The Spall Collection of rare tractors & stationery engines. The very beginnings of New Zealand's sheep and dairy farming industry are explored with displays of early milking machines and a working replica woolshed display. The Museum building also houses the Feilding & Districts Community Archive where photographs, community and club papers, and family histories tell the story of the people. A small library of books relating to the collections and Manawatu is slowly being built up.

Boys and their Toys Day at the Coach House. Gold Coin Gate Entry to see all that has been bought in to show off. Bring cash for the 'spring clean sale' or if you're after a new 'toy' then you may go home with a car or a jet ski. Come along hungry, there will be a Sausage sizzle, Scones and even some candy floss. Please note: museum gallery has additional entry fee.

Coachhouse volunteer Patrick Nolan will be one of the Boys bringing Toys but he also offers a free service for the event. Bring along your family medals and he will generally be able to identify them for you - occasionally someone did something out of the ordinary and slows Patrick down – and you can ask questions of him about the recipients service and how to do your own research . He will have research books with him which you are welcome to read. He will also be refurbishing a set of medals on display in the Museum. Patrick has a long history of working with medals, including in the QEII Army Museum in Waiouru, and at the Tower of London. His knowledge is extensive.

Who doesn't admire a classic motorcycle? Certainly the members of the Manawatu Classic Motorcycle Club. A few of our good friends from the club will have their bikes on display at Sunday's Boys and their Toys day. 18 Oct, 10am - 2pm. The carpark and Foyer will be filled with fabulous sights. Gold coin gate entry. (Museum gallery has additional entry fee)

It's spring cleaning time for the workshop team so come along to Boys and their Toys Day this Sunday and find yourself a gem. Maybe it's a piece of garden art or an upcycled vintage carriage light. I'm sure you'll find that special something you didn't know you needed. Please note: NO sales prior to 10am Sunday 18 October. NO holds, please don't message me asking. These are just some items looking for a new home, dust and all.
