Grant Wyllie, The onlookers, 2024, Totara, Ake Ake and beeswax. A commentary on being a bystander to all the chaos in the world. Grant spends his time between Christchurch and Okains Bay, sculpting and restoring the treasure of carved works by R H Menzies at Rahatu House. He works with wood and natural materials, avoiding petroleum products and honouring traditional woodworking techniques. 100% of from the sale of this work goes to the Gaza fundraiser.

News Flash!
The show is extended until the 29th of August. Image credit: Polyrhythmic Wave, by Richard Elderton, oil on canvas 2025. Huge thank you to all who have contributed to the Fundraising for Gaza exhibition so far and helped collectively raise this money. To the artists involved, hugely generous, to the art lovers and kind folk who have purchased new treasures to take home. Thank you for all the cash donations in support of this mahi, for those who have reached out and contributed from far and wide without seeing the show in person. For the kindness l've received in the forms of an exquisite carved mania and a hand spun hand knitted woollen cardigan! To everyone who has made this possible. Grateful too for all the challenging conversations this has bought and hopefully its all a bridge towards more kindness and understanding.
I still wish like many of us I could do more. So please come over if you'd like the outing and I will be updating a few new exciting works on the website soon too. DM for details if you just want to donate.
Funds raised go to MSF NZ Emergency Gaza Fund and The Kiwi Trust for Palestinian Children Relief.
