A bit of built cultural heritage restoration in Northern Thailand. The traditional wooden gate (sum pratu) to Aew's house was suffering from age, weather and termites, so local builder Bun and carpenter Gern were asked to carry out repairs, which included replacement of all of the shingles with better recycled ones.

Our second volume of the historic cemeteries archaeological research has just been published: the archaeology of the gold-rush and Chinese cemeteries at Lawrence. This is the first major archaeological study of some of those who participated in that rush, and also the first major investigation of the goldfields Chinese to be published since Neville Ritchie's pioneering work of the 1970s and 1980s.

In 2018, an archaeological and bioarchaeological investigation of two goldfields-era cemeteries in Lawrence in Otago, New Zealand, provided insights into the miners who worked in the Tuapeka Goldfield from 1861 onwards, including the Chinese miners who arrived from 1866.
