Cromwell Heritage Precinct

Cromwell Heritage Precinct The precinct was created after the rising waters of Lake Dunstan covered Cromwell's main street. Local volunteers rebuilt and salvaged stone buildings.

The Cromwell Heritage Precinct is a free visitor attraction and a great place for local people to bring friends and family. There are a range of talented artists based here with beautiful galleries to visit. Handmade and imported giftware and homeware can be found along with exquisite jewelry, handcrafted soaps and creams and Central Otago's own perfume. Entry to the fascinating historic displays that tell Cromwell's unique story is free.

Its a playgound too. From the hopscotch and noughts and crosses under the walnut tree, the the 24 little doors hidden in the Precinct and of course you can swim, paddle board, kayak and paddle in the lake.

The track has dropped a few meters allowing pictures and walkers to access the area. Still more to come keep an eye out....
