BRITTEN MUSEUM SCHOOLS PROGRAMME - EDUCATOR ROLE - VOLUNTEER, PART TIME
The Britten Museum officially opened in mid-February, and in just over three months we’ve welcomed thousands of visitors through the doors. The feedback has been overwhelming, with many describing it as one of the finest motorcycle exhibitions honouring one man anywhere in the world. We’re very proud of John’s success and want to share this remarkable Kiwi story with students, initially secondary school students throughout Canterbury. We are seeking expressions of interest from former teachers with a secondary school educational background who would enjoy assisting us, on a very part-time voluntary basis, with the establishment of a schools education programme. You’ll be part of a team of 25 other volunteers who enjoy being part of Christchurch’s latest attraction. The focus of the programme will centre around STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. We are looking for someone who understands the education sector, what schools are looking for, and most importantly, what engages and inspires students. The museum already has the story, the technology, the displays, and the innovation. What we are looking for is the right person to help us connect that story with young minds. The Britten Museum will be closed on the morning of Saturday, 25th April in observance of ANZAC Day, and will reopen at 1pm.
Thank you for your understanding as we pause to remember those that gave their lives.
