In October 1953 the last tram trundled out of New Brighton and the crowds turned out to welcome the first number 5 bus. Big day for the locals by the look of the crowd.

Its a public holiday on Monday, so a good British movie is on show. Also we have a display to celebrate King Charles. The movie is Georgy Girl, great British actors. Come at 1pm for a cuppa and maybe some home baking or a biscuit, $3 donation and the movie starts at 1.30

Monday Golden Oldie Movie promises to be a real crowd pleaser, "Dolly Parton in 9 to 5" 1pm for a cuppa and a biscuit, and 1.30 for the film. $3 donation

Our AGM is coming up in June and we are looking for someone to come onto our committee. Not strenuous, meetings once a month at 3.30pm on Third Tuesday, for aprox 1 and half hours. Ideally we are looking for someone who loves the East, and also can use a computer. It is a great way to do something for your community.
