OK, we have assembled our 2027 calendars, and our wonderful loyal local sellers now have a supply to sell. Go to SWitch Cafe OR New Brighton Club or the museum any day from 1 to 3 The theme this year is Having Fun in the East, and the cover features the legendary Pirates who have been entertaining New Brighton since 1983. Please support us as this is our main fund raiser.

Time to lighten up with a very popular musical. The Golden oldie movie on Monday is Sweet Charity with Shirley Maclaine. Come at 1pm for a cuppa nad biscuit and 1.30 for the movie. $3 donation

OMG, we have the most amazing display for the New Brighton Scouts, all the work has been done by Roger Turner, assisted by Alan Cockburn, countless hours put into this project but it is so worth it, if you had an interest in the NB Scouts, you had better come in and allow yourself lots of time to go through all the photos and stories.

Our latest display features the old South Brighton Croquet club. This was situated on the old Blighs Gardens site, I did a write up recently on Blighs gardens and this created a lot of interest. The croquet club was there originally in a little shed, ( see the photo) and then in club rooms which were sadly munted after the earthquakes. The Blighs Garden walk is still there, go in off Union Street near Admirals way. So much history at this site. go ffor a walk and appreciate the area and all the work that has been done in there.

Here's a silly request. Would any handy person know how to make an old typewriter work properly?? Children just love playing on it, such a change from their ipads and phone, but it is not working very well. I bought a new ink ribbon. Pop in any day from 1 to 3 if you can help.
