After a quiet time on social media, I felt this was the perfect painting to share again… ❤️

“Matukituki Spring Lights”
Oil on Berge Linen 60cm x 90cm
Created 2014–2015 By Tim Wilson Artist
Sold to a private Australian collection in 2015 for NZD $60,000.

There was something deeply spiritual about the way Tim painted New Zealand.

He never simply copied a landscape. He painted atmosphere, silence, emotion, light… the feeling of standing in a place and being completely overwhelmed by its beauty.
In Matukituki Spring Lights, Tim captured one of New Zealand’s most breathtaking valleys with extraordinary sensitivity. The drifting mist, the still reflective waters, the fresh alpine light touching the snow-covered mountains — every brushstroke feels alive with peace and movement.
Tim spent nearly 60 years dedicated to painting the soul of New Zealand. Entirely self-taught, he followed his own artistic path with determination, instinct, and passion. His ability to paint light became one of his greatest signatures, inspiring collectors and young artists throughout New Zealand and internationally.

Even today, years later, his paintings continue to connect emotionally with people around the world. Many collectors often said that standing in front of a Tim Wilson painting felt like stepping into another world — calm, timeless, and deeply personal.

This important original painting now lives in a private Australian collection, but its spirit continues to live on through Tim’s remarkable artistic legacy.

Sometimes art does more than decorate a wall…
Sometimes it touches the soul forever.
