Shuffling Deck chairs at the TE AWAROA MUSEUM. Sold the last of these to Steven Law, asked him if he had a use for them. He said no, he was going to drop them at one of the local op shops. Unsung heroes people 💕

Down to the last seven of these at the TE AWAROA MUSEUM, Helensville, and they need to leave home. $50 each, these last ones aren’t perfect, but showing their vintage pedigree. Chairs were used at the Helensville Hall, so get a little bit of local. Last photo is a comparative item going through Webb’s auction. Will be at the Museum Tuesday and Wednesday, 10.30 to 1.30, this week. We have EFTPOS 😁

This key was dropped in the mailbox for the TE AWAROA MUSEUM at 98 Mill Road. We’re guessing someone found it in the carpark and passed it on to us. Lots of dog walkers use the carpark, so if anyone is missing this, please let us know.

Does anyone have one of these Kaipara Dairy Company farm registration gatepost things? (I’m sure there’s a correct name for this 😁). Would be great if you were able to donate it or lend it to the TE AWAROA MUSEUM for the A and P Show, 22nd February. Hoping to put a few stories/photos of local farms together for display. Photo below is a Whites Aviation view of KDC on loan to the Showgrounds.

HOW DO YOU FUTURE PROOF THE PAST?
Sunday 26th January, 10.30am at the TE AWAROA MUSEUM, Helensville.

The Museum is redesigning its displays to gain the attention of a wider audience, support the school curriculum, encourage and enable whanau research and to promote inclusivity.

The vision is to tell the stories that are our own, that make us Southern Kaipara; the largest natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere, the irreversible alteration of our district by timber felling, the first purpose-built Native Land Court in the country, and more. Stories told using interactive displays, signage, artifacts and digital media.

Come along on Sunday 26th January, 10.30am and find out more about our plans, view the current exhibitions and learn more about what you can do to help make it happen. Tell us what you think! We’ll see you in the Courthouse!

And we’re back! TE AWAROA MUSEUM, Helensville, open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays - 10.30am to 1.30pm. Only $5 for adul...

We know the TE AWAROA MUSEUM grounds are tempting for dog walkers and we’re ok with that. Not ok cleaning up after your dog, we’re all volunteers but we didn’t sign up for your responsibilities 😂. Please be more considerate or the ‘No Dogs Allowed’ sign will have to go up.

EDIT - we found some more, have 9 left. Will need a light sand and varnish. Here until 3pm today 😁

Wanting $60 each, last photo shows prices achieved at Webb’s Auctions in June 2024. Chairs were used in the Helensville Memorial Hall, so a little part of local. 😃. Will be on site at 10.30am tomorrow, Tuesday.
