Great turnout for our spring clean day yesterday. More chainsaws present than I’ve ever seen before. Plenty of things done, trailers of rubbish to the dump, sheds tidied, flagpole ropes expertly replaced, shrubs pruned, paddock mowed, trees trimmed and 8 trees pruned at the stump. Thank you to all members and the couple of young lads that sorted the trees behind the restoration shed.

Precious hat lost" The upsetting tale of an incident in our recent Spring Tour. Andrew was distraught at losing his new hat, friends rallied around and the hat was eventually found and rescued by "Ivor the Engine Driver".

Day 3 of the spring tour all done. Started with a trip over to Russell for a look around the shops. Then drove to Hikurangi for a quick stop before a lovely drive to Matapori bay. Beautiful beach walk there. I recommend a visit to this beach if you have not been before. Then a small drive to our hotel at Tutukaka. Dinner at the fishing club where prize giving was held, and alas the Warriors lost their match.

Thanks so much to Neil and Bruce for putting on a great spring tour.

Tomorrow is breakfast then a leisurely drive home.

Day two of the spring tour is all done. Morning was spent checking out the kerikeri market, rainbow falls and local restaurants and cafes for lunch. Small drive over to kawakawa to catch a neat train trip then back to Paihia for dinner.

Day one of the spring tour is almost complete. Good cruise up to a private antique store in Matakohe, then to the Packard museum. Lots of lovely cars and then lunch. Fish and chips for me and a game of spacies on an old machine! Bliss!! Then a wet drive up to Paihia to our motel. Dinner at a rib shack. Shall detox on Tuesday 😬.

We have new date the 8th of Nov for our Club Open Day. Rain date is: Sunday 22 Nov. Any car, motorcycle or truck over 30 years is welcome. Don’t need to be a member. Tell your friends and family. Last show we had over 250 vehicles attending- it’s a great show! Post a pic of the vehicle you will bring!
