IMAgEN8: Kaipātiki, Nurturing a Love for Nature
Opens Saturday 30 May, 2pm | On view throughout June
We are delighted to present the results of a special photography programme run in partnership with IMAgEN8, delivered for tamariki across the Kaipātiki area. Through mindful nature photography, young students explored their local environment — learning to slow down, look closely, and connect with the ecosystems around them.
The photographs they produced will form a beautiful exhibition running throughout June as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography. Alongside the exhibition, a programme of community art-making and image-based workshops will be held in partnership with local organisations — a wonderful opportunity for whānau to gather, create, and connect.
Come along to the opening on Saturday 30th May from 2pm to celebrate the students beautifully realised imagery.
There will be wildflower seeds to take home and celebrate nature in your garden (limited availability), Fantail crafts (make your own unique fantail) and learn about flood resilience with your friends and family (snakes and ladders style).
On June 27th to mark the end of the exhibition we will be doing Cyanotype Printing from 2-4pm (please note spaces are on a first come basis and children must be accompanied by an adult for this activity).
